We use natural soy wax blend with cococunt wax. It burns cleaner and more slowly than paraffin, releases fragrance more evenly, and is biodegradable. Everything in a Terraeum candle is considered from the inside out.
Each 10 oz candle is designed to burn for approximately 55–65 hours when cared for properly. The first burn is the most important — treat it as a ritual, not a routine.
Our wicks are unbleached, lead-free cotton. No chemicals, no coatings — just a clean, steady flame.
We use a high concentration of fragrance oil to ensure the scent fills a room properly, both when the candle is lit and when it is resting on your shelf.
Yes. Our candles are free from parabens, phthalates, and synthetic dyes. Every ingredient is chosen with the same care as the design. The wax and fragrance oil are pet safe!
Allow the candle to burn until the entire surface of the wax has melted into liquid — this typically takes 2–3 hours. This prevents tunnelling on all future burns and ensures you get the full life from your candle. Do not rush the first burn.
Before every burn after the first, trim your wick to approximately 5mm (about a quarter inch). A trimmed wick means a cleaner flame, less smoke, and a longer-lasting candle. We recommend a wick trimmer — scissors work too.
Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. After extinguishing, always re-centre the wick in the wax before it hardens. This protects both the vessel and the quality of the next burn.
Look for the T.
Pressed into the base of every Terraeum vessel is a debossed T — a quiet mark that surfaces as your candle nears its end. When the wax burns down to reveal it, your candle has given everything it has. It is not a warning. It is an invitation.

The Terraeum vessel is made from ceramic. It is sculptural, minimal, and designed to be displayed long after the candle is gone. It is not disposable — it is permanent.
This is where Terraeum begins its second chapter. Clean the vessel, fill it with soil, and plant the seed paper included in your box. The vessel becomes a planter. The terrain that inspired the design now holds actual earth. Something grows where the flame once burned.
Place the vessel in the freezer for 2–3 hours. The remaining wax will contract and can be gently removed with a soft tool. Wipe the interior with a cloth dampened with warm soapy water. Allow to dry fully before adding soil.
Absolutely. It works beautifully as a vessel for dried botanicals, a small sculptural object on a shelf, a pen or brush holder, or a tealight holder. It was designed to live in your home indefinitely.
Each Terraeum box includes a small card made from hand-pressed seed paper — real paper embedded with seeds chosen to complement your scent. When planted in your vessel and watered, the paper biodegrades and the seeds germinate.
Fill your cleaned vessel with potting soil to within 2cm of the rim. Press the seed paper gently onto the surface. Cover lightly with a thin layer of soil. Water gently and place in a spot with indirect light. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Within a few weeks, you will see the first growth.
Each scent is paired with a seed that lives inside its fragrance world. Glasshouse → moss or fern. Moonlight Grove → lavender. Eternal Meadow → wildflower mix. Golden Orchard → herb blend. Sun Market → basil or lemon balm. Spicegarden → coriander or chilli.
Yes — the seed paper works anywhere with soil, water, and light. But we designed it for the vessel on purpose. The candle ends. The vessel lives. Something grows. That is the full Terraeum story.

We take packaging seriously — but sometimes things happen in transit. Email us at hello@terraeum.com with your order number and a photo of the damage and we will make it right immediately. Please do not return damaged items.
Unlit candles in their original packaging may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Once a candle has been lit, it is final sale — the scent experience has begun. We do not accept returns on lit candles, used seed paper, or items removed from their original packaging.
